Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?
Yes, the process of it is painful but not nearly as much as waxing because sugaring method only removes the hair from the follicle, where as waxing adheres to live cells. It is very important the esthetician knows the technique because if the method is done incorrectly, it creates a more painful experience. But don’t worry! you are in good hands with me 🙂
Can I get sugared during the time of the month?
Of course! I’m totally comfortable doing it. If you chose to do so, just wear a tampon.
Is sugaring safe?
Yes! It’s all natural ingredients containing sugar, lemon, and water. It’s perfect for sensitive skin.
How long will my appointment take?
Typically first time appointment takes about 30-45 mins. This allows me to fully explain the process and tweeze any hair that may be stubborn. For maintenance it’s about 15-20 mins.
How long does it last? (Hair Growth)
Your hair has 3 stages of growth. On the first visit, we remove the first stage of hair, the second & third visit will cover part two and three stages of the hair growth. After your third sugaring sessions, the hair growths appear to grow at the same time. Most clients see tremendous results after their first session. It should last about 2-3 weeks, however; once you keep up with it, it should last 4-6 weeks.
Is it better then waxing?
YES!! A million times better, the “sugar facts” page should cover most of the reasons why. Sugaring allows the hair to grow back thinner being that it is removed from the roots. The best part is you notice the results just after ONE session. Almost every single one of my clients who switch to sugaring will never go back to waxing.
Can I sugar while I’m pregnant?
Yes! Many pregnant women sugar during pregnancy.
What should I do after my treatment?
EXFOLIATE! EXFOLIATE! I can’t stress how important it is to exfoliate with a wet loofah, scrub, or even a wash cloth. This process eliminates the dead skin and allows the hair to resurface preventing ingrown.
